A. INTRODUCTION

1. This agreement is between Calvary Christian College and the undersigned to outline the terms and conditions associated with the provision of an iPad through the School iPad program to the named student.
2. The School iPad Program is a compulsory rental program for every Year 7 student.
3. This program is designed to enhance the delivery of educational programs and to ensure that each student has equal access to the digital technology.

B. RESPONSIBILITIES

College Responsibilities:
1. The College agrees to provide an iPad for use by the student at school and at home.
2. The student will have exclusive use of the iPad for the duration of the agreement provided that all school fees and iPad charges are fully up-to-date and paid for.
3. The College will provide a single point of contact for technical and insurance/warranty claims while the student is at the College through the IT department.
4. Calvary Christian College teaching and IT Staff reserve the right to access the contents of any of the student iPads for maintenance, security or to monitor appropriate use at any time.
5. The College will centrally manage all devices from mobile device management software.
6. The necessary curriculum IOS applications will be made available to all devices including paid apps & services.
7. Each device will receive the office software and cloud storage.
8. The College will provide an internet connection to all students while on school premises.
9. The online safety of students and their devices will be ensured by the schools firewall while on school premises (*only when connected to the school Wi-Fi).
10. Child safe and appropriate browsing will be ensured by the schools web-filtering system (*only when connected to the school Wi-Fi).
11. All devices will have the iPads built in content filter configured for age appropriate browsing on safari (enforced at all times in and out of school).
12. All devices will be supplied with an iPad cover.

Parent and Student Responsibilities:
1. The student will accept responsibility for the care and use of his/her iPad at school and at home at all times.
2. The student must ensure the iPad is kept in the supplied protective case at all times.
3. Students are not to write, deface, place stickers on or graffiti any part of the iPad and the case. The cost of any restorative work that needs to be undertaken will be charged to the parents. A cost of $50 will be payable if a replacement iPad cover is required.
4. The student must ensure the security of the iPad by not leaving it unattended at any time whether at school or in a public place.
5. The student must ensure that iPad is stored in the classroom iPad locker at any other time when it is not required while the student is at school.
6. The student must use their iPad in an acceptable manner in accordance with the College IT policy and as a learning tool. The student is responsible for the programs and sites that are accessed whether they are at school or at home. Access to the internet, online programs and social media and email must be used in a responsible and socially acceptable manner as per College guidelines. Disciplinary measures will be taken for inappropriate use of iPad.
7. The parent is responsible to ensure their child’s appropriate use of the iPad and technology outside of the school.
8. The student will not allow other people to use their iPad (other than parents or Calvary staff providing support) and will not allow their network user account ID and password to be used by anyone else.
9. The student may be required to return the iPad to the IT Helpdesk on occasions for reconfiguring of systems and/or maintenance.
10. Unauthorised software installation onto the iPad is prohibited and a disciplinary measure will be taken.
11. Students are responsible for all of their own data backup and storage and the College accepts no responsibility for any loss of data.
12. Student iPads must be connected to school Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled at all times during school hours, otherwise disciplinary measure will be taken.
13. If students modify, wipe or reconfigure the school iPad configuration disciplinary measure will be taken.
14. The parent agrees to pay the iPad Technology Levy as outlined on your fee statement for the entire length of the agreement.
15. The iPad must be returned with the charging cable and charging brick in good and working order. If the charger is missing or unacceptably damaged a cost of $60 will be payable.
16. The parent is responsible for home setup, internet connection, attachment of peripheral devices and configuring of home software or associated costs.

C. INSURANCE
1. All student iPads will have comprehensive insurance cover arranged by Calvary Christian College for the duration of the agreement period (while enrolled at Calvary Christian College in Year 7).
2. The insurance cover includes accidental damage, fire, theft and limited loss claims subject to the insurer’s terms and conditions. The outcome of all claims will be determined by the insurer.
3. Any damage or other issues that affect the operation of the iPad must be brought to the attention of the IT Helpdesk as soon as possible. All repairs are to be undertaken by the school’s IT Department. Under no circumstance is the device to be repaired by another party or repairer. Otherwise the insurance will be voided.
4. Students may make up to 2 major claims during the agreement period. If more than two major components need to be replaced as a result of accidental damage, the parents may be responsible for paying for the full cost of the repair or replacement.
5. All claims will incur $100 excess fee (excluding warranty claims).
6. In the case of a lost or stolen IPad you must contact the College immediately and report it to the Police. It is necessary to have a police report to present to the College. The insurer will cover theft/loss from home, school and organised school event, theft in transit as long as it is not unattended.
7. If an IPad is damaged and it is deemed to be as a result of malicious, deliberate or non-accidental actions, the parent will be required to pay the complete cost of repairing or replacing the iPad as this is not covered under insurance.

D. TECHNOLOGY LEVY
1. The period of the iPad rental agreement is for 1 year (from beginning to end of Year 7)
2. The Technology levy of $50 is included in the yearly fee schedule, billed annually.
3. The Technology Levy is non-refundable either wholly or partially.
4. The iPad remains the property of the College.
5. If a student leaves the school before the end of Year 7, they must return the iPad, charger and case to the College before the student completes their exit procedures.
6. If a student joins the school after the start of Year 7 they must still pay the full $50 technology levy.
7. If an iPad is not returned to the College before the student completes their exit procedures or at the completion of Year 7 the family will be billed the full cost of the iPad ($700).
